Hilton Washington D.C. National Mall, located at 480 L’Enfant Plaza SW, appointed two hospitality professionals to lead its executive team: Claudia Eggspuhler as the hotel's GM; and Vanessa Wilson as director of sales and marketing.
The 367-room hotel represents the brand’s latest expansion in metropolitan Washington. In modernizing the address, Hilton created 23,000 square feet of meeting and event space, dining and views from atop L’Enfant Plaza, which is centrally located near the National Mall and the city’s waterfront.
Eggspuhler comes to Hilton Washington D.C. National Mall with more than 17 years of experience in hospitality and tourism managing hotels across the US. Eggspuhler, a native of Switzerland, built a career developing personnel and original programing at U.S. hotels. Most recently she served as the GM at the Westin Arlington Gateway, and before that, she was GM at properties including The Adolphus in the Dallas Fort Worth area and The Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel. Eggspuhler also earned degrees in hotel management from the Hotel Schule Belvedere, and business from the College of Oberwinterthur, both in Switzerland.
Wilson will leverage her 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry as the director of sales and marketing at Hilton Washington D.C. National Mall. Previously, Wilson served as the director of sales and marketing at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center and the Hilton Washington, D.C. North Gaithersburg Hotel. Wilson was honored with the “Director of Sales of the Year” award in 1999 and 2007 while leading the sales team at the Doubletree Washington, D.C., as well as the “Sales Team of the Year” award in 2010 while at the Hilton Washington, D.C. North Gaithersburg Hotel. She holds a degree in political science from the University of the District of Columbia.
