Atlanta-based Hotel Equities named Marcie Pruitt to the position of corporate controller. Her responsibilities include oversight of the accounting and financial functions for the firm, including staff supervision and owner relations. She reports to Carlos Melgar, VP of finance for Hotel Equities.
“Marcie brings leadership experience and excellent accounting skills to our expanding accounting team,” Melgar said in a statement. “A veteran of the hospitality industry, she understands the financials, but also is skilled at building relationships with our owner community.”
As an accounting supervisor with M3 Professional Services for the past three years, Pruitt brings 20 years of accounting experience to her new position at Hotel Equities. Pruitt began her accounting career after college with McKibbon Hospitality in Gainesville, Ga., where she grew with the firm for many years. As she gained experience, the firm granted promotions of increasing responsibility culminating in her appointment as senior accountant, a position responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts for up to 15 hotels at one time. She holds a bachelor of business administration in accounting from the University of North Georgia. She enjoys reading, shopping and spending time with her family. Pruitt and her husband are the parents of one young daughter and live in Cumming, Ga., where she is a volunteer at her church and an active member of the choir.
