Omni Hotels & Resorts appoints new GM, director of sales and marketing for Atlanta development

Omni Hotels & Resorts appointed new leaders at the the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta. Ramon Reyes has been named GM of the property, while Jennifer Mayo has been named director of sales and marketing.

In his new role, Reyes will lead the opening efforts of the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta and oversee all departments including operations, sales and marketing, rooms, risk management, human resources and food and beverage. Most recently he served as GM of the Omni Riverfront Hotel in New Orleans, where he transitioned the property into the Omni portfolio from another brand. In the hotel’s first full year under the Omni flag and under Reyes’ leadership, it achieved RevPAR growth and improved its competitive set ranking to No. 1 in the area.  

Reyes joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in 2008 as director of rooms and operations for the Omni Royal Orleans. In that role, he was responsible for overseeing 345 rooms, as well as several departments including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, parking operations and loss prevention.

The Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta is scheduled to open early in 2018.

Mayo, who has more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, will oversee all sales and marketing efforts for the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta, including managing, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies that drive group, business and leisure travel sales, as well as leading all advertising and communications initiatives. She most recently served in the same position for nearly 13 years at the Omni Charlottesville Hotel, which achieved RevPAR growth under her tenure and was ranked No. 1 in its market.

Mayo joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in 1998 as a group sales manager for the Omni Ambassador East Hotel in Chicago. She was then promoted to senior sales manager for the Omni Chicago Hotel, and briefly served as acting director of sales and marketing before moving to Charlottesville.

Scheduled to open early 2018, the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta will be a full-service hotel and serve as a cornerstone of the mixed-use community adjacent to SunTrust Park, future home of the Atlanta Braves. The property will have 16 floors, 264 guestrooms including 28 suites, more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space, an elevated pool deck and bar overlooking the ballpark and a signature restaurant.
