The Whitney Hotel appoints Marina Aslanidou as GM

Expected to open this spring, The Whitney Hotel will begin daily operations with Marina Aslanidou in charge as its general manager. Aslanidou will join the Boston hotel after more than 10 years in the hospitality industry, most recently as director of sales for Grace Hotels North America where she planned and implemented sales and marketing campaigns for the company’s properties.

Before working with Grace Hotels, Aslanidou worked as general manager at Grace Vanderbilt Hotel in Newport, R.I., and as reservation manager and assistant hotel manager for Grace Mykonos Hotels. A graduate of The Foundation College in Athens, Greece, she studied economics and management.

“I am fiercely committed to providing all guests with the best possible experience and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue this commitment as a new team member at The Whitney Hotel,” Aslanidou said in a statement. “I am so excited to bring this property to life within the iconic neighborhood of Beacon Hill and look forward to seeing firsthand all of the hard work that has gone into it come to fruition.”

In her new position, Aslanidou will oversee the hotel’s reservations, front office, housekeeping, maintenance, payroll, sales and marketing operations. She will begin when The Whitney Hotel opens this spring. The luxury boutique hotel, situated in Boston’s historic Beacon Hill neighborhood, will feature 65 rooms. It will offer one restaurant, Peregrine.

Managing the new property is Hersha Hospitality Management. The company offers hotel and asset management services to over 50 hotels in locations throughout the East Coast.
