San Francisco-based Kimpton--acquired by the InterContinental Hotels Group one year ago--is set to debut its first international hotel in Amsterdam next year. The hotel is owned by YC Amsterdam BV, a venture set up by affiliates of York Capital Management and its operating partner.
The hotel, which is currently operating as the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Centre, will open as a 270-room Kimpton hotel following a full renovation of the lobby, restaurants, facilities and guest rooms.
Kimpton currently manages 59 hotels in the U.S. for a total of 10,700 rooms. A further 16 hotels with 3,200 rooms were in the pipeline as of the end of September.
