Barrière Group opens its first hotel in the mountains, Hôtel Barrière Les Neiges

The Barrière Group opened its very first hotel in the mountains—the Hôtel Barrière Les Neiges.

The property, located in the Trois Vallées ski area, within the Courchevel 1850 resort, has an interior designed by Nathalie Ryan, who drew inspiration from the surrounding mountains by blending wood and stone with various fabrics.

The entranceway carpeting was inspired by ski tracks left in the snow, light wood paneling (said to evoke the sunny slopes), light fittings reminiscent of gleaming ice crystals and doors turned from tree bark.

Bedrooms textiles include cashmere, felted fabrics, velvet and fur. The larch wood walls and ceilings are reminiscent of traditional chalets, given a contemporary twist. The balconies have armchairs with wool blankets and fur throws.

Located on the Bellecôte slope in Courchevel 1850, Les Neiges has 42 rooms (35 of these rooms spanning 42 square meters or 452 square feet each). There are also suites, 46 of them measuring 206 square meters or 2,217 square feet each. There is also the 240 square meter (2,583 square foot) Ski Room.

The Barrière Group was founded in 1912 by François André.
