Blink Design Group, P49 Deesign combine for Conrad’s first French Polynesian property

The Conrad Bora Bora Nui opened as the brand’s first French Polynesian property and the area’s first luxury resort in a decade. Bangkok-based firms Blink Design Group and P49 Deesign reportedly looked to Tahitian history when creating the property.

The resort has South Pacific influences, seen through bespoke French Polynesian details. Included among 114 guestrooms are 28 tropical garden and beach villas, 86 overwater bungalows, and two presidential villas, Bora Bora’s only two-story overwater accommodations.

All villas have wall-to-wall sliding doors, while overwater villas include catamaran nets for lounging directly over the water. Select suites have private infinity plunge pools. Bathrooms have double vanities, a rain shower and an oversized tub. The two-story and two-bedroom presidential villas were designed with upstairs sundecks and whirlpools, three bathrooms, two dressing rooms and a living room. A second-floor wellbeing room houses a sauna and a private deck with daybeds and bars.

The open-air brasserie concept Iriatai French Restaurant has lagoon views and includes banquet and veranda seating, as well as an adjacent wine bar and cellar. The Banyan Chinese Restaurant is located beside a banyan tree, while the Upa Upa Lounge Bar has a glass floor deck.

The property also has the Hina Spa. Located on a hillside, it has seven bungalows, a steam room, a sauna, and a 120-square-foot open-air treatment room.
