IHG has opened the new-build, 98-room Holiday Inn Express Farroupilha in Brazil’s southern region of Serra Gaúcha. The hotel is part of Casa Perlage, a new, large-scale commercial complex that includes a convention center and restaurants.

The complex is 20 minutes from the Caxias Do Sul Airport as well as the cities of Gramado, Garibaldi and Bento Gonçalves. Farroupilha is the country's main manufacturer of textiles and knitted fabrics as well as the largest producer of Muscat grapes.

Holiday Inn Express Farroupilha is the first hotel in Brazil to open with IHG Connect, which automatically recognizes the devices of IHG Rewards Club members so that guests only need to sign in once to access hotel WiFi at all IHG Connect-enabled hotels.
