Choice's Steve Joyce talks Cambria, Airbnb, Obama and robots

Cambria Hotel Front

Choice Hotels International, along with Hidrock Properties and Concord Hospitality, recently celebrated the grand opening of the Cambria hotel & suites NY - Times Square
The 81,000 square-foot, 196-room hotel is a sister property to a Cambria-branded hotel that, too, recently opened, in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. There is also a Cambria hotel in downtown White Plains, N.Y. In total, the three hotels represent a combined investment of $141 million in New York, creating nearly 1,000 jobs and 461 hotel rooms.

At the opening, Hotel Management, in this exclusive video, caught up with Choice president & CEO Steve Joyce, who offered his take on 2016, the growth picture for Cambria, why President Obama has, after a false start, been good for travel, the impact of Airbnb and why—even though we live in a technology-first society—robots will never take the place of humans when it comes to hotel staffing and the guest experience.
