First Westin opens in Buffalo

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide's Westin brand opened its first location in Buffalo, N.Y. The Westin Buffalo New York was developed through a partnership with owner/operator Delaware North, and is located on the bottom floors of the company's new global headquarters.

“With the revival of downtown Buffalo and new energy in the city, we are thrilled to introduce a unique wellness proposition for business and leisure travelers, as only Westin can,” Bob Jacobs, VP of brand management for North America at Westin, said in a statement.

The five-story property is located at 250 Delaware Ave., and consists of 116 guestrooms and 7,300 square feet of meeting and event space. The property also includes an outdoor courtyard, the Patina 250 restaurant, Jake's cafe and the RunWESTIN and WestinWORKOUT fitness programs. The property also participates in Buffalo's Reddy Bikeshare initiative, which provides 200 bikes to the city. This is in line with the property's concept, which includes a connection to nature and the promotion of physical exercise and well being.

The hotel is located near Buffalo's business and entertainment districts, the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, Key Bank Center and the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
