Hard Rock flagship hotel nears opening

The Hard Rock Hotel New York, Hard Rock International’s new flagship hotel, is nearing completion in Midtown Manhattan, and now accepting reservations for its official debut in April 2022.

“This is a monumental moment for Hard Rock International and a true milestone in our journey to elevate our lifestyle hotels portfolio,” said Dale Hipsh, SVP of hotels, Hard Rock International. “New York City is the culture capital of the world and as a brand, we have been eagerly anticipating the right opportunity to bring our entertainment-infused hospitality experience to this market. Hard Rock Hotel New York creates the perfect home base for exploring the city’s most exciting attractions, but what’s more, are the curated experiences for guests and locals that only we can offer through one-of-a-kind partnerships and collaborations with legendary artists, performers and musicians.”

The newly constructed hotel will have 446 guestrooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. The Rock Star Suite on the 34th floor is a bilevel glass-enclosed penthouse with original contemporary artwork, bespoke music memorabilia and a dedicated terrace.

Design firm Jeffrey Beers International created a music-infused concept for the property, accented by memorabilia honoring musicians from (and inspired by) New York City. Notable displays will include a classic leather motorcycle jacket owned and worn by Joey Ramone; a pair of silver patent leather boots worn by Lady Gaga; a record player with built-in microphone and cutting lathe for making direct-to-disc recordings from Les Paul; and handwritten lyrics for John Lennon’s 1972 ode to his adopted home, “New York City.” The hotel will also offer live music across all public spaces.

Dining options at the hotel will include NYY Steak, developed in partnership with the New York Yankees. Mozambique wood-paneled walls will be complemented by autographs from players and the plates will be inscribed with player numbers. The RT60 Rooftop bar will serve cocktails and host both DJs and emerging local talent. The brand’s signature Sessions Restaurant & Bar on the main level will be accessible by a grand staircase from the street. The venue, with a three-story atrium and open-air terrace, will host live, unplugged musical performances.

The Venue on Music Row will be a flexible entertainment space with capacity for up to 400 guests. The Venue will host performances as well as fashion shows, after-parties and gala dinners.

The property is close to Times Square, Broadway, Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park and Fifth Avenue shopping.
