Hilton soft brands open hotels in Illinois, Maryland, Tennessee

Hilton’s Curio and Tapestry collections opened three new properties in Tennessee, Illinois and Maryland. Together, the debuts add 497 rooms to the two Hilton soft brands.

The Central Station Memphis (Tenn.), Curio Collection by Hilton opened this week. The hotel, converted from a 105-year-old transportation hub, features 123 guestrooms, a two-story bar, 8,000 square feet of event and meeting space, a fitness center, 3,750 square feet of retail and, opening next month, an onsite restaurant. McLean Wilson, a principal at Kemmons Wilson Co., owns the hotel and Valor Hospitality Partners operates it.

In Illinois, Heart of America Group opened The Axis Hotel Moline, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The hotel includes 104 guestrooms, a bistro and bar and a historic 1920s-era ballroom. Originally constructed in 1929, the property is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Heart of America Group owns and operates the hotel.

Earlier this month, The Bethesdan Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton opened in downtown Bethesda, Md. Owned and managed by TBC Hotels, the hotel features 270 guestrooms, a full-service restaurant, a lobby lounge and a 24-hour market. The hotel marks Tapestry Collection by Hilton’s first property in Maryland.

As of Sept. 30, Curio Collection by Hilton had 14,935 guestrooms at 78 properties open and Tapestry Collection by Hilton had 3,255 guestrooms at 24 properties.
