Castle Hotel: The Castle Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Dalian, opened in Liaoning, China. The hotel is owned by the Dalian Yifang Group and managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and has 292 guestrooms and suites as well as 67 residences, offering ocean views. The hotel was designed by HBA Interior Design.

Odessa opening: Baymont Inn & Suites, part of Wyndham Hotel Group and parent company Wyndham Worldwide, opened its 350th hotel, a new construction 71–room property in Odessa, Texas. This is the newest property for Baymont, which recently opened hotels in Erie, Pa.; San Angelo, Texas; Bellevue, Iowa; and Rapid City, S.D.

First Paris opening: InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) debuted its Hotel Indigo brand in France with the opening of the 57-room Hotel Indigo Paris – Opera in the capital’s entertainment district. This will be the 60th Hotel Indigo hotel globally, opening in the brand’s 10th anniversary year. Hotel Indigo Paris – Opera will operate under a management agreement between IHG and SAS Maud.

Alberta property: The Radisson Hotel & Convention Centre Edmonton, formerly the Edmonton Hotel & Convention Centre, opened in Alberta, Canada. The hotel has 168 guestrooms, a full-service restaurant and lounge and over 13,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Hany Assal is the hotel’s GM.

Panama property: Grace Hotels opened a new property in Panama City. Occupying the ground floor and six upper floors of the new ‘Twist Tower’ in the Obarrio District, Grace Panama is an urban boutique hotel. The property has 60 rooms and suites spread between the 13th and 17th floors of the tower, and a lap pool is located on the building’s 12th floor. The hotel has two dining options.

GuestHouse conversion: Boomerang Hotels opened the 53-room GuestHouse Inn St. Joseph, Miss. The property is a conversion, and is the fourth GuestHouse International hotel to open in the state. It is owned and operated by Asha Hospitality. The hotel has newly renovated rooms and completed both interior and exterior upgrades during its conversion.

Aloft debut: Starwood Hotels is debuting its Aloft brand in Columbia, S.C., with the Aloft Columbia Downtown. The hotel is scheduled to open in January 2016 in The Vista city center, which includes over 4,000 square feet of ground floor retail space, 60 restaurants and bars, live entertainment, numerous art galleries and specialty shops. Owned by Lady Vista and managed by Lexington Hospitality, the new Aloft hotel will have 108 rooms.

Medical hotel: Home2 Suites by Hilton opened its 44th property with the Home2 Suites by Hilton Sioux Falls/Sanford Medical Center, in Sioux Falls, S.D. This is the first property for the brand in South Dakota. It is owned and operated by Fargo, N.D.-based TMI Hospitality. The 80-suite hotel is connected via climate-controlled walkway to Sanford Medical Center.

Red Lion: Red Lion Hotel Corporation opened a second new franchise location in the Seattle market in two months, with the Red Lion Inn & Suites Federal Way. The hotel has 90 guestrooms, a conference room and laundry facilities, and offers a hot breakfast and free Wi-Fi. NW Hospitality will manage the property, and is planning a $2-million upgrade to the guestrooms and public spaces.

Myanmar entrance: Hilton opened its first hotel in Myanmar with the Hilton Nay Pyi Taw, located in the country’s capital city. The 201-room hotel is located on 100 acres of land, and was constructed for over $47 million. The property is the first of five hotels the Hilton Hotels and Resorts group plans to manage in Myanmar under an agreement it signed with the Eden Group, a Myanmar-based business conglomerate.

Savannah opening: Hyatt and Hotel Equities opened the Hyatt Place Savannah Airport. The 81-room hotel has 600 square feet of meeting space and is located two miles from the Savannah Hilton Head International Airport and a short distance from downtown Savannah. Hotel Equities will manage the property. Kyenna Hamilton will be GM of the hotel.

Buffalo property: The 124-room Hilton Garden Inn Buffalo, N.Y., opened occupying the first 14 floors of the historic 20-story Tishman Building tower, now dubbed 10 Lafayette Square. The hotel includes both suites and standard hotel rooms, a lobby bar, a full-service restaurant and 3,800 square feet of meeting and banquet space. The Hamister Group acquired the building in December 2012 with a plan to convert it into a mixed-use facility that also includes 18 luxury apartments and Hamister’s corporate headquarters. The hotel is accepting reservations for arrivals on November 10 and beyond.

First in Haikou: Marriott International opened the first Marriott property in China’s Haikou, Hainan Province. The 386-room Haikou Marriott Hotel is near the Hainan International Exhibition Centre, a 45-minute drive away from Haikou Meilan International Airport, a 10-minute drive to the railway station, and a 15-minute drive away from downtown. The hotel has over 4,000 square meters of meeting space, as well as three restaurants, four lounges and bars, three outdoor pools and The Spa Centre, which has hot spring pools, steam saunas, dry saunas, jacuzzi tubs, foot massage rooms and wellness and beauty treatment rooms.

Manhattan hotel: The 122-room Hyatt Herald Square New York hotel opened two blocks away from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. The property recently completed a $6-million renovation to its guestrooms, lobby and restaurants. Real Hospitality will manage the property, which has an espresso bar, a rooftop lounge, and a library-themed bar, restaurant and a private dining space.

Seventh in Virginia: Value Place opened a new-build hotel in Fredericksburg, Va. Value Place partnered with a local franchise to develop the hotel, which is its seventh in Virginia. The four-story, 124-room hotel has laundry facilities, wireless Internet and modified kitchens. The hotel is managed by Sandpiper Property Management.

New in Mexico: The La Quinta Inn & Suites - Monterrey Norte opened in Monterrey, Mexico. The 156-room, 10-story hotel is owned by Operadora Arpa, and is located near the University of Nuevo Leon, Niños Heroes Park and shopping outlets. The hotel offers complimentary high-speed Internet, breakfast, a business center, four meeting rooms, a restaurant, lobby bar, fitness center and outdoor pool.

Dubai tower: Dubai developer Damac Properties opened a new hotel suites tower in the Burj area of Dubai. The Canal Views serviced suites tower is the company’s second hotel offering in the area. The tower has 211 suites of either one, two or three bedrooms with full kitchens and complimentary internet access. The development also includes a swimming pool, steam room and sauna. The property will be managed by Damac Maison.
