Chicago's Hotel Saint Clair relaunches as independent property

In downtown Chicago, the Hotel Saint Clair has reopened as an independent boutique hotel. The building dates back to 1926 and originally opened as the Hotel Eastgate. In 2018, the property was the first hotel to join Red Roof's Red Collection soft brand.

Today, the independent hotel has updated interior spaces, an art-inspired lobby, The Hot Coffee Shop and Curfew, a new restaurant operated by chef Fabio Viviani. The building features Spanish Revival style architecture and a brick façade.

With interior spaces designed by Barker Nestor Architecture & Design, the hotel’s common areas have wooden accent walls, industrial ceilings, pendant lights, a live wall, mosaic tile and seating areas. The lobby also has a gallery wall surrounded by living plants; the space flows directly into Curfew, the hotel’s new restaurant.

Operated by chef Fabio Viviani, Curfew serves Spanish, American and Italian fare. The bar area has floor to ceiling windows, communal tables and booths along with a large patio for al fresco dining.

The Hot Coffee Shop, also operated by Viviani, has Italian-style beverages, smoothies and baked goods throughout the day. Room service is available from Curfew as well.

All 206 guestrooms at Hotel Saint Clair have oversized gel fiber pillows and textured linens.
