Marriott brings St. Regis brand to Venice

Marriott International has brought its St. Regis brand to Venice, Italy, close to the Piazza San Marco.

The opening of the St. Regis Venice follows a two-year, full-scale renovation of the former Grand Hotel Britannia, which opened in 1895, the same year as the inaugural Venice Biennale. The property is located across the Grand Canal from Punta della Dogana and is a combination of five historic palaces, the oldest of which dates bark to the 17th century.

The hotel has 169 guestrooms and suites, many with private terraces or Juliet balconies. Public spaces include several restaurants and bars, the Astor boardroom for meetings and the Canaletto Room for larger functions, as well as private gardens and terraces. The hotel also has an exercise room and spa suites for treatments from Carita Paris.

The St. Regis Venice marks the brand’s third location in Italy, joining The St. Regis Florence and The St. Regis Rome.
