My Place Hotels of America officially opened the My Place Hotel-Ankeny/Des Moines, Iowa today, marking the brand’s 37th open location nationwide and the third My Place Hotel to open in Iowa since August. The new three-story, 46-room hotel is located at 2506 SE Tones Drive, offering guests easy access to Des Moines’ commerce centers in addition to the diverse dining and retail options nearby. Following the October opening of its sister property in Altoona, Ankeny’s newest hotel will serve travelers to the metro’s northern corridor while the Altoona property focuses on a mix of business and leisure guests just East of Des Moines.
The two Des Moines area hotels are the first of 40 My Place Hotels planned by owner Matt Eller and partners, who initially announced their plan to open 40 My Place Hotels at their first groundbreaking ceremony in May. Eller has effectively organized his teams at Pro Commercial and Eller Enterprises to accomplish the goal. Together the teams opened their first two My Place Hotels this year, while their third is underway in Davenport, Iowa.
GM Jesse Etherington said he and his team are excited to complete construction and serve the guests they’ve been working to welcome.

Terry Kline, My Place's EVP of franchise development, said the brand is thrilled to welcome Eller’s organization of expert developers, builders, and operators. While My Place continues its campaign for U.S. expansion, Kline said Eller’s team plans to connect many key markets throughout their plan to build 40 My Place Hotels in 10 years.

All My Place Hotels offer modern amenities and nightly, weekly and monthly rate options. Each extended-stay guestroom will include a My Kitchen, complete with a two-burner cooktop, a microwave and a full refrigerator. The property is pet friendly and will also include on-site laundry facilities, complimentary high-speed Internet service and a 24-hour My Store, located in the hotel lobby and stocked with an array of supplies for the guests’ convenience. Additionally, guests are invited to enjoy the new breakfast in bed option.
