Newest Courtyard opens in Akron, Ohio

Courtyard by Marriott Akron, Ohio

The Courtyard by Marriott Akron Downtown opened on the city's Furnace Street. The 146-room hotel in Akron, Ohio, is owned by Concord Testa & Associates and managed by Concord Hospitality Enterprises of Raleigh, N.C.

The hotel will make use of Courtyard's latest room design, which offers hybrid zones for working, sleeping and relaxing, as well as indirect lighting and a neutral tone-on-tone color palette. The hotel's suites have fireplaces, one and a half bathrooms, hardwood floors and brick walls.

"Today's technology has changed how people travel. Our guests want a room that has purpose and flexibility that enables a seamless transition between relaxing and working. Courtyard is designed to offer them a relaxing and functional space to work the way they want to, when they want to."

The nine-story hotel has an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, a 20-seat movie theater and guest laundry, as well as 2,675 square feet of meeting space with floor to ceiling windows that offer views of Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
