Second Origin Hotel property to open this summer

Construction is nearing completion on Kentucky’s Origin Lexington, an independent 120-room hotel expected to open this summer. The team behind the project includes The Thrash Group as developer, contractor, architect and interior designer and Pyramid Hotel Group as operator.

Origin Lexington will mark the second location for the Origin Hotel brand. Launched by Mississippi-based The Thrash Group in 2018 with the Origin Red Rocks in Golden, Colo., the brand is expecting to open locations in Raleigh, N.C., and Westminster, Colo., later this year.

"We carefully select sites in communities that have energy and activity," Walker Thrash, partner at The Thrash Group, said in a statement. "The Summit at Fritz Farm fits that perfectly. Our guests want to explore local favorites and enjoy the uniqueness of every place they visit."

The hotel will offer customizable event space for gatherings of up to 200 people. Its lobby restaurant The Still will serve Southern-inspired food and feature a 30-person private dining room. Amenities include free in-room yoga kits, a fitness center and in-room teepees and sleeping bags for children.

The property will be part of The Summit at Fritz Farm, a mixed-use development from Bayer Properties. The project includes 300,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, more than 300 apartment units and 44,000 square feet of offices.
