Parisa O'Connell, Clinton Miller design Park James Hotel in Silicon Valley

Park James Hotel, managed by Broughton Hotels, has opened in California. Involved in the design of the 61-room hotel and chef-driven restaurant Oak + Violet were Parisa O'Connell and Clinton Miller of Parisa O'Connell Interior Design.

Located in Menlo Park, Park James Hotel has an airy lobby with the saying “No Strangers Here, Only New Friends” etched upon the entryway. The lobby also uses natural woods and textures, light installations and digital check-in. Subtle Irish nuances weaved into the design hint at Menlo Park’s heritage and history.

The lobby opens to an indoor/outdoor bar. The O+V Courtyard has an outdoor lounge with movable seating, communal tables and Irish throws.

All room types have high-end furnishings and fabrics outfitted in an earthy color palette. Amenities include Frette sheets, Momo toiletries, in-room pour over coffee and a mini bar. In-room tablet controls and digital entry pads give guests full control. Each hotel room has oversized windows that open to the outdoors, allowing views and breezes to enter.

For dining, the property’s restaurant, Oak +Violet, has open views to the kitchen and outside patio. Meanwhile, the Experience Dining Bar is cloaked in Connemara marble.

For events, Park James Hotel has 1,200 square feet of meeting space.

The Park James Hotel is situated in the center of Silicon Valley, near Menlo Park’s downtown. Weston Spiegl is the GM of the property.
