A new dual-brandd Marriott property opened in San Diego.
The 253-room SpringHill Suites and 147-room Residence Inn are part of a larger mixed-use projected called BRIC (Broadway at Pacific Highway).
The hotels consist of the $130-million first phase of the development. Local brokerage firm Retail Insite will lease the project's 27,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, with another 31,500 square feet to come after phase two.
In a few months, construction is expected to begin on a 400-room InterContinental Hotel as part of the same development site. Lankford & Associates and Atlanta developer Portman Holdings, as well as architects John Portman & Associates and contractor Hensel Phelps will work on the project.
