Starwood opens Sheraton Zurich

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened the new 197-room Sheraton Zurich Hotel, the brand’s second hotel in the financial capital of Switzerland. The hotel is owned by ZUFA Immobilien AG and opening under an agreement between Starwood and Arabella Hospitality SE. 

The Sheraton brand is looking to open its 500th hotel by 2016.

“I would like to thank our longtime partner, Schörghuber Corporate Group, for once again putting their trust in Starwood as we introduce the new Sheraton Zurich Hotel,” said Michael Wale, president, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East. “The opening of Sheraton Zurich allows us to meet the growing demand for internationally-branded hotel accommodations in the city while offering a new gathering place for the local community and global travellers.”

Starwood currently operates six hotels in Switzerland, including the recently opened  W Verbier—the brand's first ski resort.
