The California Lodging Investment Conference plans to give its first Lifetime Achievement Award to John Manderfeld, president and founder of Marin Management.
Manderfeld, a more than 50-year veteran of the hospitality industry, revealed plans earlier this year to retire effective Aug. 31. Manderfeld plans to continue in an advisory role after his official retirement and will work closely with Hogan Hospitality Group—which bought Marin Management in September 2018—during the transition. A successor is expected to be named in the upcoming months.
Founded in July 1990, Marin Management operates and markets for more than 25 hotels, restaurants and spas and regularly advises a portfolio of restaurants, hotels, developers and operators on issues such as development, capital improvements, acquisition, marketing, training and high-technology management.
The California Lodging Investment Conference, which will be held March 5 at The Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel in Costa Mesa, Calif., expects to welcome more than 350 attendees. The event, focused exclusively on the California hotel market, brings together leaders for one day of learning, professional development and networking.
