Hotel management and development company Concord Hospitality Enterprises has promoted Donna Italia to VP of transitions. In the newly created role, Italia oversees the process of properties transitioning into and out of the company’s management portfolio and provides support for new hotel openings.

“During her time at Concord, Donna has proven to be a valuable team member that can juggle the many responsibilities associated with transitions,” Mark Laport, president/CEO of Concord Hospitality, said in a statement. “We are always proud to provide our high-performing team members with advancement opportunities throughout their careers, especially when we are able to support women in leadership roles.”

Italia brings more than three decades of experience to her new role. After 16 years with Marriott International, Italia joined Concord Hospitality in 2010 as GM of the Clinton Inn Hotel in Tenafly, N.J. In 2015, she became GM of the Renaissance Meadowlands Hotel and area general manager of four additional Concord properties. While in that role, she facilitated the transition of the Courtyard Edison to a Concord property.

“Ensuring a successful transition process for the Concord portfolio is crucial as we continue to capitalize on our robust pipeline of new opportunities,” said Italia in a statement. “From setting up introductory calls to working directly with Concord and other management teams, there are countless moving parts to be synchronized in order to provide a successful transition. I am eager to take on this new role and continue to facilitate Concord’s growth across the United States and Canada.”

As of April, Concord had 102 properties with 15,012 guestrooms open.
