DoubleTree by Hilton opens in Decatur, Ala.

Hilton Worldwide and DoubleTree by Hilton opened the DoubleTree by Hilton Decatur Riverfront, a five-story, 165-room hotel located in historic downtown Decatur, Ala., 14 miles from Huntsville International Airport. Formerly a Garden Plaza hotel, the property closed in November 2014 to complete a $10-million transformation that redesigned the exterior and lobby, updated guestrooms and suites, installed all new furniture throughout the hotel, updated and expanded meeting spaces and renovated the atrium. DoubleTree by Hilton Decatur Riverfront is owned and managed by Cooper Hotels.

In addition to upscale accommodations, guests will enjoy an array of complimentary amenities, including the newly-updated indoor/outdoor pool and sun deck, 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour business center and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel’s public areas and guestrooms.

DoubleTree by Hilton Decatur Riverfront also debuts a new dining concept: Twist Grill & Bar, located by the lobby and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant has traditional southern food such as shrimp and grits, fried and blackened catfish, Cajun pasta and molasses pork tenderloin. Room service is also available for guests seeking the convenience of in-room dining, while those looking to start their day with a fresh cup of coffee can stop by the new Starbucks Kiosk open each morning in the hotel’s lobby.

DoubleTree by Hilton Decatur Riverfront offers the largest meeting and banquet facilities in the city. With 8,901 square feet of meeting space, including nine meeting rooms and a 4,300-square-foot ballroom, the property provides a setting for conferences and receptions of up to 650 people.
