Embassy Suites at Chevy Chase Pavilion in Washington, D.C., begins $10.5M update

The Embassy Suites at Chevy Chase Pavilion is preparing itself for a major upgrade.

The 198-room hotel in Friendship Heights began a $10.5-million renovation July 13 that will bring a new entrance, expanded restaurant and bar and hardwood floors to each room. The renovation will also include two new “premium floors” with suites containing 55-inch HD televisions and access to an “exclusive refreshment center.”

The hotel opened in 1990 with the Chevy Chase Pavilion. The full renovation, designed by HVS Design and Jonathan Nehmer & Associates out of Rockville, will be complete in October and include a new lobby, new 20-seat lounge called Willies Bar and reconfigured Atrio Cafe.
