The former George Wythe Hotel is being renovated and put back into use as a boutique hotel after more than 40 years of operating as a bank.
The hotel, constructed in 1927, is in the process of having new life breathed into it. The hotel will be re-branded as the Bolling Wilson Hotel in the fall of 2014. The hotel will have 30 guestrooms; event space to accommodate 150; a soon to be named restaurant serving Southern cuisine; outdoor dining; and a rooftop patio that provides a 360 degree view of the mountains.
The Bolling Wilson Hotel is located at 170 East Main Street in Wytheville, Va. The hotel will be a member of the Ascend Collection by Choice Hotels and is listed as a contributing building on the National Register of Historic Places. The property is being developed by Smith Enterprises. Cornerstone Hospitality a full-service hotel management firm located in Williamsburg, Va., will assist in the development and manage the property operations.
