W Hotels appointed Gregory Polino as GM of the W Miami. In this new role, Polino will oversee day-to-day operations of the 146-room lifestyle hotel, and ensure ongoing initiatives and activations are aligned with the W brand standard.
Polino joins the brand’s newest luxury hotel property, located in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood, with 15 years of industry experience. Prior to this new role, he was the hotel manager at sister property W South Beach, and played an integral role in hotel operations, strategy, financial and development of the W Hotels brand.
“I am honored to be named GM of W Miami and continue my career with the W Hotels brand,” Polino said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to leading the hotel’s incredible team in making W Miami the hottest destination in Brickell.”
Polino comes from a seasoned hospitality background, receiving a master’s degree in international hotel and food service management from the Paul Bocuse Institute and a Bachelor’s Degree in international hotel and restaurant management from the Jean Moulin University in Lyon, France. His journey began in food & beverage in France, followed by several management roles at properties such as Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Sofitel Luxury Hotels and most recently the Izakaya-style Japanese eatery, Zuma.
Debuted in June 2016, W Miami has 146 rooms, each with a private balcony offering views of the city or the Miami River, as well as floor-to-ceiling marble bathrooms with W-signature Bliss amenities. W Miami is home to two culinary and beverage concepts – 15th & Vine Kitchen and Bar and Whisper Cocktail Lounge. The 15th & Vine Kitchen and Bar, located 15 floors above Brickell Avenue, redefines modern American dining while Whisper Cocktail Lounge offers a view of Biscayne Bay 50 floors above the city streets.
