G6 Hospitality, known for its economy lodging brands Motel 6 and Studio 6 in the U.S. and Canada, began development on a new-build hotel in Austin, Texas, in partnership with HKV Hospitality. The new property will have both Studio 6 and Motel 6 brand offerings in the same location, and is currently slated for completion in early 2019.

During the ground-breaking ceremony in Austin, Vijay Patel, president of HKV Hospitality, was joined by G6 Hospitality executives including Jim Amorosia, president & CEO, and Rob Palleschi, chief development officer, as well as special guests, local media and residents, who took part in the celebration.

“As we break ground on this new venture, we look forward to seeing the success Vijay will have with his first dual-brand property, which is situated on a major artery connecting travelers easily to the downtown Austin area,” Palleschi said during the ceremony. “This combined Motel 6/Studio 6 property will provide a fresh and inviting lodging option for guests visiting Austin. As our brand continues to grow and evolve both domestically and internationally, we are confident this new concept will offer a unique lodging option to meet the needs of travelers looking for a short-term or extended stay.”
