Hard Rock International, Convention Hotels India end JV for Goa hotel

Executives behind the Hard Rock Hotel Goa, slated to formally open in March, have canceled an agreement that would have seen a division of Gurgaon-based Spectra Hospitality Services manage the music-focused brand's first property in Goa.

According to DNA India, the hotel was originally to be managed by Spectra Hotels & Resorts, a joint venture between Convention Hotels and Spectra Hospitality, but Hard Rock International and Convention Hotels India severed ties with Spectra.

The Goa hotel will now be operated and managed by Hard Rock International while CHI will serve as the asset owner. CHI was founded nearly ten years ago as a hotel investment platform for South Asia, and has reportedly invested Rs 450 crore towards hotel development in India.
