Hard Rock plans new hotel in Hartford, Conn.

Hard Rock International is planning a new hotel for Hartford, Conn.

The proposed 170-room hotel will be privately financed and built by Centerplan Construction. Hard Rock will manage the property, which will be located on the corner of main and Trumbull streets and is expected to open in 2018.

The construction of the Hard Rock Hartford North will be part of the next phase of a $400-million development project in Hartford, which will include a new minor league baseball stadium, 180 apartments, a grocery store, restaurants, shops and entertainment options. The cost of the hotel is still under discussion.

"We look forward to being a part of Hartford's Downtown North evolution as one of the most exciting new neighborhoods in the region," Marco Roca, EVP of global hotel development at Hard Rock International, told the Hartford Courant.
