Hilton Des Moines (Iowa) Downtown names GM

The 330-room Hilton Des Moines Downtown in Iowa has named Dan Carlino GM. The new role is a continuation of a 23-year career with Hilton that he began in 1996 as GM of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Missoula – Edgewater in Missoula, Mont.

Carlino, a 32-year hospitality veteran, started his career in the industry as a corporate property systems trainer for Ramada. After a few years there, he shifted to Red Lion Hotels, where he worked as director of front-office operations, director of rooms and eventually general manager. Following his time as GM at the Montana DoubleTree, Carlino served as task force GM at the former DoubleTree by Hilton Minneapolis North, President Abraham Lincoln Springfield - a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park. 

IEC Hotel Corp. owns the Hilton Des Moines Downtown and Hilton Management Services manages it. The only hotel connected to the Iowa Events Center, it offers 14,000 square feet of its own meeting and event space. The Hilton Des Moines Downtown includes a restaurant and bar, a heated indoor pool and a fitness center.
