Hilton opens DoubleTree hotel in Laurel, Md.

DoubleTree by Hilton debuted the DoubleTree by Hilton Laurel, a 208-room property located between Washington and Baltimore. The hotel opens following a $5-million transformation of the Holiday Inn Laurel West, which included a total redesign of the lobby, updated guestrooms and meeting spaces, new furnishings throughout the property and a renovated atrium entrance. DoubleTree by Hilton Laurel is owned by Sotherly Hotels and managed by Chesapeake Hospitality.

The six-story DoubleTree by Hilton Laurel unveils a contemporary design made with a glass-domed atrium entrance, wood accents and a modern color palette of greys, browns and blues. Locally-inspired artwork adorns the walls throughout the property, and inviting guestrooms offer an array of updated features including 42-inch HDTVs, mini refrigerators, in-room safes and work desks with connectivity panels.

Additional complimentary offerings include Wi-Fi throughout the hotel's public areas and guestrooms, a 24-hour business center and 24-hour fitness center featuring Precor equipment. The hotel also offers free shuttle service within a five mile radius of the hotel. A 24-hour on-site laundry facility is also available for guests' convenience.

As part of its renovation, the hotel debuts an updated restaurant, All American Sports Grille, open for all-day dining with seasonal lunch and dinner menus with regionally-inspired fare with an eclectic twist. Guests can also start their day with the brand's Wake Up DoubleTree Breakfast and American-inspired à la carte lunch items at the Atrium Café, while those preferring to dine in the comfort of their room can conveniently order room service. 

With nine event rooms totaling more than 13,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, the hotel offers guests a variety of room options, making it the ideal setting for gatherings and events of up to 300 people. For smaller groups, the hotel offers the Meetings Simplified by DoubleTree by Hilton package, which includes the meeting room, basic meeting Wi-Fi, meeting room supplies including a flipchart, markers, extension and power cord and all day non-alcoholic beverage service. Catering services and a dedicated event staff are available to enhance any event.
