Kimpton to update the Morrison House in Alexandria, Va.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will be bringing a multimillion-dollar update to the Morrison House hotel in Alexandria, Va. The hotel will receive updates to all of its public spaces and guestrooms.

The 45-room hotel will close During the update, beginning Feb. 1, with a reopening planned for April. The hotel's restaurant, The Grill, will close permanently and will reopen as a new 70-seat restaurant and bar.

The updated property will also receive a new ballroom with 985 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel's interior will be designed by David Hill of Los Angeles.

The 160-room property features more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space, a bar, a fitness center, an indoor pool and a grab-and-go shop.

The appointments comprise two executive chefs, a director of food and beverage, a restaurant general manager and an executive pastry chef.
