Marcus Hotels & Resorts names new president

The Marcus Corp. appointed Michael R. Evans president of its Marcus Hotels & Resorts division. Evans brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to his new role, including significant stints with MGM Resorts International and Marriott International.

Most recently, Evans served as CEO of Apex Capital Ventures, a real estate company in Las Vegas focused on the development and acquisition of hotels and resorts. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years with MGM Resorts International as COO of MGM Hospitality and as EVP, global development. Before that, Evans spent 10 years in leadership positions at Marriott International, including as SVP of international hotel development in London, VP of hotel development for Asia/Pacific in Hong Kong and VP of global asset management in Washington, D.C.
