The Millstattersee Hotel See-Villa in Austria installs rooftop solar panels

The Millstattersee Hotel See-Villa is installing solar panels on its rooftop. The rooftop installation covers approximately 80 percent of the hotel's energy requirements. This is just one of several renovations taking place at the hotel to celebrate its 130th anniversary, having been built in 1884.

The first summer hotel in Millstatt, Austria, Hotel See-Villa was founded by Rudolf Schürer von Waldheim who spearheaded the development of Carinthia as an exclusive summer destination for the nobilities and elites of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The hotel was built in 1884 by architects Mayreder and Kochlin, artificers of the Etablissement Ronacher in Vienna. Von Waldheim was later recognized as the father of Millstatt because of such significant contributions.
