Minneapolis welcomes its first JW Marriott hotel

The first JW Marriott hotel in Minneapolis opened as part of the Mall of America's luxury expansion.

The 342-room hotel is near the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The property was designed by a collaboration between the Omaha, Neb.-based DLR Group and Denver-based Design Force Corp. JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America has approximately 20,000 square feet of event space, a three-story lobby, a fitness center, dining options, a lobby lounge and an indoor swimming pool.

Mortenson developed the hotel, which is owned by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.
