Movenpick Hotels & Resorts will open a 167-room hotel in Kochi, India, by December, increasing its portfolio in the country to three.
The Zurich-based heritage hotel already manages Movenpick Hotel in Bangalore and a spa and resort in Dharamshala in Himachal. The Kochi property will also be on the same model.
Movenpick signed a management agreement with ITMA Hotels, an associate company of the Kochi-based Jomer Properties & Investments, and the property is expected to be open by the end of the year.
Movenpick entered the country in 2011 with the Bangalore property and is close to open a 124-room resort & spa at Dharmashala in the Kangra valley.
