New Cambria Suites in the works for Chicago's Loop

Choice Hotels International signed an agreement with Integrated 32 West Randolph and affiliates of Murphy Asset Management to develop a new Cambria hotel & suites in Chicago's Loop district.

The 198-room, 21-story Cambria will be located above the Ford Center for the Performing Arts Oriental Theatre, and is expected to open in September 2017.

"Last year, over 50 million people visited Chicago, which is one of America's most iconic cities and one of the country's largest business centers, making it the perfect city for the rapidly expanding Cambria brand," said Michael Murphy, SVP, upscale brands, Choice Hotels International. "The Cambria hotel & suites Chicago will bring a rare find to the city– upscale service at an affordable price."

The Chicago property will have a contemporary bistro; the Social Circle, serving a menu comprised of local specialties created by Chef Michael DeMaria; liquor, wine, beer and freshly prepared grab-and-go gourmet salads and sandwiches; and a barista bar. This property will have over 2,500 square feet of meeting space with AV capabilities for group meetings and conferences, as well as valet parking for all guests.

The furloughs will affect those at its domestic owned properties as well as its corporate staff.
