New Hotel Indigo begins construction in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Chance Partners began construction on the new Hotel Indigo at Riverfront Village located in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa Downtown will join the new mixed-use community, Riverfront Village, along Tuscaloosa's Black Warrior River. The property will be Tuscaloosa's first riverfront hotel, the city's first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified hotel and the state of Alabama's first Hotel Indigo hotel.

The Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa Downtown hotel, expected to open in winter 2016, will be located at 120 Greensboro Avenue. The 91-room property will have approximately 1,000 square feet of executive meeting space, a fitness center, a business center and a 2,500-square-foot outdoor terrace.
