Okura Nikko to launch Nikko Style brand in Nagoya, Japan

Hotel Okura subsidiary Okura Nikko Hotel Management has signed a deal with Meieki Management to manage the Nikko Style Nagoya in Japan.

The 191-room hotel, which is opening in 2020, will be in Nagoya’s Meieki district and near Nagoya Station, Yanagibashi Central Market and Chubu Centrair International Airport.

Support 27 will develop the property and has appointed Orix Real Estate Investment Advisors to control the asset management and project management of the hotel.

Hotel Okura and Hawaii-based private real estate firm Trinity Investments launched the Nikko Style brand as part of a joint venture agreement in November 2017. The new hotels operated by Okura Nikko will open in major metropolitan and regional areas of Japan, including Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Fukuoka, Hokkaido and Okinawa. The partners plan to expand the Nikko Style brand into select markets in Asia, North America and Europe once they have established the brand and its operations in Japan.

Okura Nikko has set plans to expand its other brands in Asia Pacific, as well as increase its portfolio to include 100 hotels worldwide.

The group added the Hotel Jal City Nagoya Nishiki to its pipeline in February 2017. It signed the14-story, 216-room hotel with Enuwan to operate and manage the property, which will be near Fushimi Station on the Nagoya Municipal Subway.

The signing follows the opening of Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach in March in Bali. The opening marked Hotel Nikko's return to Indonesia after the closing of a Hotel Nikko property in Nusa Dua, Bali in 2016. The new Bali hotel in Tanjung Benoa has 188 guestrooms and suites.
