Pacifica Companies acquired the Movie Colony Hotel in Palm Springs, Calif.

The Movie Colony Hotel in Palm Springs, Calif., was acquired by San Diego-based Pacifica Companies.

Pacifica expressed a desire to upgrade the 16-room Movie Colony Hotel, which is its second owned property in Palm Springs. The company also owns the 56-room Triada Palm Springs across the street from the Movie Colony Hotel.

“Since they were already located next door, they (Pacifica) were attracted to the synergies of owning Movie Colony both from a marketing and operating standpoint, as well as the architectural uniqueness that Movie Colony Hotel offered,” Henry Pflueger, principal with Maxim Hotel Brokerage, which helped to negotiate the deal, told The Desert Sun.
