Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, U.S. hotel performance came in lower for the week of Nov. 20-26 than the previous week and showed mixed comparisons to 2019, according to STR‘s latest data.
For the week (percentage change from comparable week in 2019):
- Occupancy: 50.4 percent (-0.5 percent)
- Average daily rate: $135.49 (+20.4 percent)
- Revenue per available room: $68.27 (+19.9 percent)
In comparison, for the week of Nov. 13-19 (percentage change from comparable week in 2019)
- Occupancy: 63 percent (+3.4 percent)
- ADR: $144.50 (+15.9 percent)
- RevPAR: $91.02 (+19.8 percent)
Top Markets
Among STR’s top 25 markets, Minneapolis reported the largest occupancy increase over 2019 (+7.6 percent to 42 percent).
Phoenix posted the highest ADR (+42.7 percent to $151.24) and RevPAR (+44.8 percent to $85.05) increases over 2019.
San Francisco (-21 percent to $73.73) registered the only RevPAR decrease from 2019.
