Virgin Hotel Chicago plans soft opening on Jan 15.

Entrepreneur Richard Branson's Virgin Hotel Chicago initially planned for a soft opening in, December, but this opening is now being pushed back to Jan. 15. This property will be the first in what is eventually expected to be a chain of boutique hotels.

By that time, the hotel's 292 rooms will be ready for occupancy, along with the Commons Club, a multi-room restaurant and bar on the hotel's second floor. A second diner-style eatery called Miss Ricky's is expected to open late February, while the rooftop lounge, yet to be named, won't debut until April or May.
