Asia Pac hotel development pipeline up 6.7 percent

The number of hotels under contract across Asia Pacific rose to 2,363, totalling some 554,532 rooms, according to the June 2015 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report.

There were 1,031 hotels under construction in June, with more than 260,000 rooms. Predictably, Mainland China accounted for much of the new supply with some 145,167 upcoming rooms across 452 hotels.
