With luxury lodging generally enjoying a rebound since the Great Depression, more brands have entered the increasingly crowded lifestyle space. Despite this segment’s high cost to build and maintain, in addition to the greater barriers to entry, there were 191 luxury/lifestyle hotels in the pipeline at the end of the second quarter, comprising 35,144 guestrooms.
