Hampton Hotels to open first Hawaii property

Hampton Hotels is opening its first Hawaii hotel at DeBartolo Development's planned 1.4-million-square-foot, $500 million Ka Makana Alii West Oahu shopping mall.

Hawaii is the last state in the nation to open a Hampton hotel. The property will be a 175-room Hampton Inn & Suites hotel.

"Hawaii has been a part of Hilton Worldwide's history since the 1960s with the opening of the first Hilton Hawaiian Village tower," said Bill Fortier, SVP, development—Americas, Hilton Worldwide, in a statement. "As one of the world's most sought-after travel destinations, it is only fitting to expand Hampton Hotels to Hawaii, bringing a successful mid-priced product to the market."
