Hilton plans Mexico debut for Waldorf Astoria

Hilton's luxury brand, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, is poised to make its debut in Mexico later this year when the Resort at Pedregal is rebranded as the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal.

The Resort at Pedregal was recently acquired by affiliates of Walton Street Capital Mexico. "Along with the Conrad Punta de Mita (opening 2020) and the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort, this represents our third resort project in Mexico with Hilton," said Federico Martin del Campo, CEO of Walton Street Capital Mexico. "We believe there is a tremendous opportunity for Mexico's hospitality sector to continue its historical growth trajectory and are excited for the future of the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal."

The 24-acre hotel has 115 guestrooms and suites, all of which have ocean views and private plunge pools. The property also will have three pools for all guests—an infinity pool, a saltwater pool and a children’s pool. For wellness, the hotel has the Luna y Mar Spa (including a "grotto" with local herbal remedies, steam rooms, saunas, ice rooms, whirlpools and a saltwater meditation pool), as well as fitness classes featuring pilates and yoga. Food and beverage options include four restaurants and bars

When the rebranding is complete, the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal will join nearly 70 Hilton properties already in Mexico. Hilton's Latin American and Caribbean portfolio includes nearly 150 hotels in 25 countries. The company's pipeline for the region has nearly 90 projects in development, 30 of which are in Mexico.
