Ibis to open $90M Brisbane hotel in 2016

Ibis will be opening a new hotel in Brisbane's CBD.

Middle-East based hotel developer Action Hotels will construct the 368-room, $90-million project on Brisbane's Elizabeth Street. It is the developer's first foray into the Queensland market, and its second in Australia. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, with the property scheduled to open in early 2016.

"Economic and business growth forecasts indicate Brisbane is a city on the move," said Andrew Nehme, Action Hotels Australian director. "Our experience here to date tells us the business-friendly environment that exists will help ensure our investment will be safe and our contribution to Brisbane's rapidly-expanding choice of hotel accommodation will be beneficial."
