IHG signed an agreement with Adyar Gate Hotels to rebrand a 286-room property as the Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park. This is the second IHG hotel in the city, including the Holiday Inn Express in the Mahindra World City.

Located in the city’s central business district and taking the site of the existing Sheraton Park Chennai, the hotel was originally the site of IHG's first Holiday Inn launched in the 1970s.
