Local investors set to bring Onyx hotels to second-tier Chinese cities

Onyx Hospitality Group has partnered with two local investment companies to open two new hotels in China. 

The 110-room Shama Daqing Heilongjiang is scheduled to open in late 2016 in the central business district of Daqing, the second-largest city in the Heilongjiang province. Developed by Heilongjiang Hong He Investment Company, the hotel will be close to the Daqing Airport.

Scheduled to open in 2017, the 75-room boutique Amari Yangshou Guilin will be part of an integrated commercial development by Shenzhen Yitian Group.

Onyx is looking to manage 81 hotels, resorts and serviced apartments by 2018. In China, it is looking to expand in Xiamen and Shenzhen, and reportedly has several projects in the negotiation stage.
